Jeff Thiede paints bold objects with playful colors.

Born in Novato, California, I have lived in eight different states. Chicago has been my home for the past seven years which is now my second longest address.

I received my BA from Mercyhurst University where I was recruited for rowing after a decorated career as a coxswain at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Preparatory. At Mercyhurst, I majored in graphic design and minored in photography and art history. With a great love for painters likes Edward Hopper and Giorgio Morandi, it was not until the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 that I began classes to explore oil painting.

I photograph most with my iPhone and posts images to my Instagram. I currently paint at the Greenleaf Art Center in Rogers Park, Chicago.
